Ayurveda, the ancient branch of science, has many suggestions and diet tips to control and regulate the cholesterol levels in your body to ensure that you keep your heart safe and healthy. An expert from Ayush Ayurvedic Singapore gives valuable information about how cholesterol is accumulated in your body that can wreak havoc on your heart. Ayush Ayurvedic Singapore experts suggest some do-it-yourself dietary plans and more to keep your health robust.

“Body produces cholesterol, which actually protects cell tissues and nerves in addition to the production of certain hormones. Another form of accumulation of cholesterol in your body is directly from the foods you eat. Many food items have more cholesterol, including eggs, meats, and dairy products. Cholesterol is moderately required in your body, and if you have an excess of it, it can trigger health issues. Thanks to the unregulated cholesterol levels, many people fall victim to heart ailments these days,” says the Ayush Ayurvedic Singapore expert.

She also says that excessive cholesterol or low-density lipoprotein can lead to a higher risk of heart attack or stroke. Here are a few tips to regulate cholesterol levels, as suggested by the expert at Ayush Ayurveda Singapore.

Firstly, you need to follow a diet regimen that should pacify Kapha strictly. The expert at Ayush Ayurvedic Singapore put it thus: “You need to avoid fatty food, processed food, cheese, high-fat milk, curd or yogurt. Also, cut down on your sweets intake and the consumption of cold foods and drinks.”

Garlic is a panacea for many dietary irregularities, including gastric irritations and any bowel-related ailments. Additionally, garlic is also found to be effective in preventing high cholesterol, says the expert at Ayush Ayurvedic Singapore. “You just need to do make a concoction of one clove of fresh finely chopped garlic, and half teaspoon grated ginger root, and the same measure of lime juice. Consume this before each meal that you have throughout the day. This will help you to regulate cholesterol levels and keep it under control,” she adds.

Also, you can try consuming another combination of half teaspoon trikatu with one teaspoon of honey thrice a day. This will help burn the digestive fire called ama or amashaya and excess Kapha. This will further help you regulate your cholesterol levels, the expert at Ayush Ayurvedic Singapore points out.

Chitrak-adhivati is another herb used in Ayurveda, which will effectively regulate the cholesterol levels in your body. Besides that, you can also drink a cup of hot water laced with honey. This will help your body scrape off the fat from your system and further reduce cholesterol levels, says an expert from Ayush Ayurvedic Singapore. “You might as well add a teaspoon of lime juice or ten drops of apple cider vinegar and consume it. This mixture, too, is good for the reduction of cholesterol levels. Also, you can add oatmeal, quinoa, millets, wheat, almonds, apples, etc., to your daily diet plan so that these items will help your body regulate the cholesterol levels to the manageable limits,” the expert from Ayush Ayurveda Singapore added.
