Ayurveda, defined as the science of healing, is a popular and established method to attain the right balance of doshas in the human body. Ayurveda predominantly uses oil massages referred to as “ayurvedic massage” which incorporates the use of warm herbal oils infused with powders on the body for specific durations according to one’s individual needs. The calm technique of ayurvedic massage not only induces a relaxed and pain-free state but also reports an enhancement of the overall state of well-being of the receiver of the treatment.

Ayurvedic herbs have been used for their therapeutic, curative and soothing effect on the human body. Medical practitioners who work in ayurvedic pharmacy recommend using these herbs in very specific methods as the method of usage dictates obtaining complete value from the herb and is vital to efficacy of the ayurvedic treatment. These beneficial herbs which can be made part of our daily regimen can be found in any ayurvedic pharmacy.

Since the ancient age, ayurvedic herbs have been offering solutions to various diseases, some of which were even thought to be impossible to be cured by other fields of medicine. Ayurvedic herbs are said to be derived from natural sources where the leaves, flowers, fruits, seeds, roots, bark, and resin are used to prepare herbal medicines which will be readily available in an ayurvedic pharmacy.   • Triphala – Triphala is an ayurvedic medicine composed of three medicinal fruits, namely amla, bibhitaki, and haritaki which is good for weight loss, gut disorders, reducing lethargy and relief from abdominal pain.
  • Brahmi – The best ayurvedic herb for treating neurological disorders, is widely used in treatments for improving concentration, reducing restlessness, and has the ability to help us deal with stress and anxiety.
  • Licorice root – Licorice is a common ingredient used for making ayurvedic medicine that helps in soothing gastrointestinal problems, reducing inflammation, making the skin radiant and smooth. It also helps provide relief for sore throat as well.

Therefore, ayurvedic herbs have been an integral part of Ayurveda from the time they were discovered to be effective. Internal consumption of these herbs in the form of herbal medicine helps a person live a healthy and stress-free life providing cure to various diseases.
