The world is yet to come out of the grip of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the immunization and booster shots have, to a great extent, helped the adults to cope with the crisis. Nevertheless, children are the ones to get impacted. Therefore, it is extremely important for the parents to take extra care of their wards in terms of helping them to increase their immunity, says the expert from Ayurvedic Singapore.

According to the expert from Ayurveda Singapore, Kaumarbhritya is the branch of Ayurveda that is associated with the immunity of children and their wellness. The expert names a slew of herbs suggested by Ayurvedic Singapore that will eventually boost your child’s immune system in a big way. Let’s see what the herbs that are going to help the children improve their immunity are.

Tulsi

A common herb found in all climes, tulsi or basil leaves are rich in vitamins such as A, C, and K. Tulsi leaves, according to Ayurveda Singapore experts, offer excellent support to reducing cough and the common cold. All you need to do is to boil some tulsi leaves in water, strain it and give the concoction to your child every morning.

Turmeric

Another common ingredient, which is available everywhere, turmeric or Haldi in Hindi and manjal in Tamil, is available at all the major provision stores and supermarkets. Turmeric has anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties. “No wonder then, turmeric is a great immunity booster for human beings in general and kids in particular,” says the expert from Ayurveda Singapore.

You can give your child a teaspoon full of turmeric added to milk or buttermilk daily, for this will make sure that your child does not fall ill frequently.

Ashwagandha

Speaking about Ashwagandha, the expert at Ayurvedic Singapore says, “Ashwagandha is an ancient herb replete with medicinal properties. This is known in Ayurvedic parlance as a panacea for not only helping to manage the physical ailments of children but also their mental health. Ashwagandha is particularly helpful for the prevention of colds, in addition to its stress-busting property.”

Amla

Amla or gooseberry is an excellent fruit for your kid. Adding a gooseberry to your child’s daily diet will eventually help your child to develop strong immunity and enjoy a range of benefits such as digestion, skin glow, and more. The expert from Ayurveda Singapore further says, “If your kid is feeling reluctant to eat raw gooseberry, you can add grated amla in dips, sauces, and salads and give it to your child.”

Giloy

Giloy water is good for children, especially, especially if there is a fever. Giloy helps in removing toxins from your child’s body, purifies the blood, and fights bacteria. “What’s more, giloy also acts as a rejuvenating agent and helps in managing other ailments such as urinary tract infections. You can easily prepare giloy water at home. Initially, boil one long branch of giloy in water along with a few tulsi leaves for a few minutes. Strain the concoction and make your child drink,” the expert from Ayurveda Singapore says. He adds that even though they are herbs, before giving them to your children, you should consult an Ayurvedic physician.
