Migraine is a form of headache caused by vasodilatation of the arteries of the brain. It is debilitating by nature and is characterized by moderate to severe headaches and nausea. Women are 3 times more prone to migraines than men. Migraines can last from 4 to 72 hours.

While the causes of Migraine are unknown, the triggers include:

  1. Stress, hunger and fatigue
  2. Lack of sleep
  3. Alcohol, smoking
  4. Excessive exercise or too little physical activity
  5. Being overweight
  6. Travel – changes in altitude, weather, or time zone
  7. Family history of migraines
  8. Menstruation
  9. Glaring lights, perfumes or other odors.
